NEWBURYPORT — A Magical Night of African Music and Culture to support a laptop project for children in Africa will be held Saturday, May 5, under the tent at The Tannery marketplace, 50 Water St.
The event is hosted by Small Solutions Big Ideas, which supports education projects aimed at providing one laptop for every child in Africa.
Small Solutions creates bridges between Newburyport and Africa, with children sharing their ideas and learning on the One Laptop Per Child XO laptops. This year, the group has already delivered 15 XO laptops and 24 recycled bicycles to teachers and children in remote villages.
